Venturemen offers high quality barbering services while maintaining a welcoming, hospitable vibe. In portraying this balance of premium service and hospitality, I created a visual identity system that combines and contrasts elements that feel regal like the use of gold in the color palette and serif custom typographic mark with elements that feel organic like our textures, sign-painter-inspired typography and organic photo cropping. We teamed up with marbling artist, Felicia Koloc, to create a set of unique marble textures/designs that are reminiscent of both suds after a shampoo and the high quality material of marble itself. Many elements were inspired by the Japanese world view, wabi-sabi, which accepts and appreciates the beauty of “imperfection” found in nature.
