Homefield is a sports complex focusing on giving amateur athletes the facilities and tools of the pros. An owner of MLS soccer team Sporting Kansas City with other KC investors have started Homefield with plans to build out 15 to 20 high-end facilities nationwide over the next three years. Some of the sports it will feature include soccer, volleyball, baseball, e-sports and potentially pickleball. It will also offer amenities such as nutrition, physical therapy, injury prevention, massages, restaurant and bar. They wanted their space to feel like a home field. The design used bold colors and photography to represent the professional level of offerings. We created a library of hand-drawn illustrations to give a nostalgic sports feeling and add a human element to make the brand feel approachable. The hand-drawn typography communicates the energy of the brand or word before reading the actual content.
